Storing and using your breast milk



  • Room temperature (up to 25oC) up to 6 hours
  • In main part of fridge (below 4oC) up to  8 days
  • Warmer fridge (5-10 oC) for 3 days
  • Freezer (approx. -18oC)  use within 6 months
  • Previously frozen/thawed 12-24 hours in fridge (defrost in fridge)
  • Stand the container in a jug of warm water to heat. Never use the microwave to heat breast milk.
  • Swirl the milk to mix, do not shake vigorously.
