Benefits of breastfeeding:

Breast milk is a perfect combination of proteins, fats, carbohydrate, and fluids that new-born babies require. It is easily absorbed and most convenient method of feeding. There is no preparation time, it is at the right temperature, it is always available and it is free. There are many health benefits for you and your baby, here are just a few:

Breastfeeding helps protect your baby against:

  • ear infections
  • gastro-intestinal infections
  • chest infections
  • urine infections
  • childhood diabetes
  • eczema
  • obesity
  • asthma
Breastfeeding helps protect mothers against:
  • ovarian cancer
  • breast cancer
  • weak bones later in life

Women who breastfeed often return to their pre-pregnancy figure faster.
